Pontalba Style Window BoxIn 1848 the Pontalba design received its name after the most famous of New Orleans French Quarter landmarks the "Pontalba Building." The "Smiths" of Old England originally designed this wrought iron pattern of scrolls and rosettes which lends itself to any type of modern or period architecture. Technology finally changed in the late 1970's to allow us to recreate these designs in Aluminum, the advantages are they will not rust, strong and light weight. We still make some cast iron boxes but 98% are now aluminum.
